During the South American spring, journey through two of South America's most culturally and geographically diverse countries: Argentina and Chile. Book-ended by the vibrant capital cities of Buenos Aires and Santiago, this program also highlights some of the most awe-inspiring natural landscapes of Patagonia. Your adventure begins in Buenos Aires, the "Paris of South America" with its cultural atmosphere and stately neighborhoods. Next, venture inland to El Calafate’s Glacier National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. From here, travel across the Andes into Chilean Patagonia to spend three nights at the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Torres del Paine National Park, set amid monolithic granite spires, azure colored lakes and spectacular glaciers. Here condors ride on currents above the Andes, and foxes, rheas and guanacos give chase in the windswept pampas. Your journey concludes in Santiago with a survey of distinctive Chilean culture, and a celebratory lunch with tasting of select vintages at a historic winery. For those wishing to extend their time in South America, we offer a pre-trip extension to Iguazú Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world.
