Alumni Studies Program
Alumni Studies courses come in a variety of formats and durations. Inspired by the Class of 1946 Studies program, Alumni Studies courses bring participants together with faculty for in-depth exploration of particular topics. Designed primarily for home study, these courses have syllabi and also provide the opportunity for online discussion with faculty and classmates. They often have optional on-campus components as well.
Winter 2009 Program: Chaucer's Canterbury Tales
This winter, the Office of the Alumni Association will be offering an opportunity for alumni, parents and friends of the University to participate in a 9-week course on Chaucer, which was taught for over 40 years by Professor John V. Fleming *63, Louis W. Fairchild '24 Professor of English and Comparative Literature, Emeritus. Professor Fleming, one of the world’s leading Chaucer scholars who taught at Princeton University from 1965 to 2006, has inspired generations of students, and we are delighted to provide you with a chance to learn from him one more time. Whether you are one of Professor Fleming’s former students or not, his deep knowledge of Chaucer, his passion for teaching, and his unique sense of humor are on ample display throughout these lectures. Learn more about the Winter 2009 Program.
