Hoffman Scholars Program

The Alumni Council's Committee on Academic Programs for Alumni (CAPA) is proud to be recognizing the work of three graduate students this spring with the 2009 Hoffman Scholars Presentation. Named in honor of the late Bob Hoffman *58, a proud graduate alumnus of Princeton and ardent supporter of alumni education, the program is designed to share with alumni some of the best doctoral research being conducted at the University.

2009 Hoffman Scholars Honorees

The 2009 honorees and their presentation titles are:

  • Daniel Bouk, History of Science
    Taking Risks and Defining Difference in the American Life Insurance Industry
  • Levi McLaughlin, Religion
    Ethnographic and Historical Perspectives on Sōka Gakkai, Japan's Largest Active Religion
  • Intisar Rabb, Near Eastern Studies
    Legal Maxims in American and Islamic Criminal Law
