Tuscany Family Escape
This trip has been completed.
August 10–19, 2009. This trip has been developed specifically for families in mind, offering a variety of activities of interest to those of all ages, and includes tickets to the Palio in Siena.
Experience Tuscany as it was meant to be: with family, friends and a hearty mix of learning, touring, dining, and playing. There is plenty to see and do together as a family, however a complete program of supervised youth activities allow for adult enjoyment of lectures and a little "down time" to soak in the beauty of Italy.
Stay in your own medieval castello complete with walls, tower, and stone houses, lovingly restored with modern amenities, including a swimming pool and an award-winning restaurant. Take day trips to Siena, Arezzo, and Montepulciano to immerse your family in the history, culture, and cuisine of traditional Tuscany. Savor gourmet dining and fine wines for the adults, great pizza and pasta for the kids. Enjoy a fresco class for kids, a rousing soccer game with the locals, a pasta-making lesson and bike rides through charming towns. And stand in awe before the masterpieces of Italian art—including Michelangelo's David—in Florence.
Please note: Princeton travelers will be joined at the castello by those from National Geographic.
About the Study Leader
