Thailand Family Exploration
December 22, 2010 – January 2, 2011. This trip has been developed specifically for a family—youngsters with parents, grandparents, or other adult friends or relatives—who wants to experience the natural world together.
Welcoming and accessible, Thailand is a mix of traditional Buddhist culture, secluded hill tribes, lively cities, and breathtaking scenery. Join your fellow Princetonians December 22, 2010 – January 2, 2011, and introduce the children in your life to the allure of southeast Asia on this exciting adventure, with activities, accommodations, and meals planned with a mix of generations in mind.
Gain insight into Thai culture, history, art, and religion in bustling Bangkok, while visiting temples and palaces, active markets and vibrant streets. Take an overnight sleeper train to Chiang Mai where opportunities abound for a variety of activities—from taking a cooking class, biking along the Ping River, or visiting a rock-climbing operation run by Princetonians. Venture high into the rain forest canopy to see diverse wildlife and visit a working elephant camp to spend time eye to eye with the great beasts. Overnight in a village house among the hill tribes of the Northern Highlands and take a bamboo raft trip to accommodations at a riverside resort.
