Alumni Day

Alumni Day was first observed on Lincoln's birthday in 1915. Designed to give alumni a glimpse of campus life when the University was in session (and not just at commencement for Reunions), the event drew 100 people in what the PAW called "an intellectual pilgrimage" to Princeton. From 1916 to 1955, Alumni Day took place on Washington's birthday; thereafter, it was and remains observed on the Saturday nearest to February 22.

Alumni Day now draws over 1400 alumni, parents, friends and family. It is not only a day to reconnect with Princeton but a day to renew old friendships and undoubtedly forge new ones.

Alumni Day 2008

Alumni and families braved the wet winter weather to take part in the 2008 Alumni Day activities on Saturday, February 23. Lectures, panels, tours, and the Service of Remembrance helped entertain and connect the friends and families of the Princeton community for the special day.

The Princeton University marching band got participants in high spirits as Jadwin Gymnasium hummed with the excitement and anticipation of a community honoring the remarkable achievements of its alumni and students during the 2008 Alumni Association Luncheon and Awards Ceremony.

The day also included a panoply of engaging academic content featuring Princeton alumni and faculty, including lectures by the two alumni award recipients.  We encourage you to check out the Alumni Day Lecture Archives archives, as well as the Chapel Audio Tours.
