WINTER 2009
Service Projects Continue at Reunions

The following community service projects sponsored by the 2009 major reunion classes and the APGA demonstrate the ongoing commitment to Princeton both in the Nation’s Service and in the Service of All Nations.

  • The Class of '04 will collect art and musical supplies for underfunded local school districts.
  • The Class of 1999 will partner with Isles, Inc., a Trenton-based community development and environmental organization, to renovate a former textile mill for use in a number of community projects.
  • The Class of 1994, in conjunction with Princeton in Latin America and Arial Home Project, is raising funds to support an undergraduate trip to Ensenada, Mexico, for home construction.
  • The Class of 1984 will be working with Trenton’s River City Community School to help prepare its new classroom space in an historic church.
  • The Class of 1979 aims to reach 1,979 hours of community service by the end of Reunions and will work together to learn more about sustainability at the University.
  • The Class of 1974 will collect books for Anchor House in Trenton, an organization managing three emergency shelter and crisis intervention houses for runaway and abused children.
  • The Class of 1969 at its 40th Reunion will mark the 15th anniversary Princeton Internships in Civic Service (PICS), which now includes alumni from 26 classes as donors, internship sponsors, student interviewers, mentors and board members.
  • APGA volunteers will spend a day of service in Trenton at Martin House, whose mission is to help socioeconomically-disadvantaged residents achieve their American dream through homeownership and education.

Cross-class participation in all of these projects is welcomed. For more information, please visit the Web sites of each class and APGA.
