The John Maclean Society is named for the tenth president of Princeton, who guided the University from 1854 to 1868. The recently revitalized organization, which was founded in 1984, honors former members of the Alumni Council and former trustees of the University.
Maclean Society members are alumni who have devoted their time and energy to help maintain Princeton's excellence. The Alumni Council relies on their knowledge, expertise and talent to support the alumni community. Members can support the alumni community by submitting nominations for some of Princeton's most prestigious awards, to helping develop a volunteer pipeline and mentor fellow alumni volunteers.
In the summer of 2019, members were mailed a John Maclean Society pin. The logo on the pin was inspired by an illustration of Maclean House by artist Mark Markiewicz '72 *74 of New Canaan, Conn. If you did not receive a pin, please send an email including your name, class and current mailing address and phone numbers to firstname.lastname@example.org.
