Get a taste of the Gulf region on this comprehensive cruise aboard the luxurious Crystal Esprit, January 7–17, 2020.
Explore Oman, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Dubai as you cruise this thriving Persian Gulf region in the comfort of the privately chartered, 31-stateroom Crystal Esprit. The area is a fascinating crossroads of modernity and tradition in the Islamic world. Start the cruise with Oman's compelling cultural and natural attractions. Continue to Qatar, an absolute and hereditary emirate since the mid-19th century, that has taken a prominent geo-political role in the region. Finish among the dazzling skyscrapers and museums of the United Arab Emirates, a business and cultural hub of the Middle East.
We will visit the mosques, souks, educational institutions, historical and art museums that best reflect the past and present. The educational program focuses on the role of Islam in this part of the world, on the social, political, cultural, and economic development of these countries, and western influence on them. In short, we will deepen our understanding of the tensions and symbiosis of tradition and modernity in this vital crossroads of the world.
For those wishing to continue the adventure, an optional pre-cruise Omani desert extension or post-cruise Dubai program is available.
