Painting Memories: How Maura Whelan ’14 finds inspiration in nature and joy

For the cover for Princeton’s 2024 Reunions program, Maura Whelan ’14 captured an iconic moment. “I painted people dancing in a Reunions tent because we haven’t seen that on the program’s cover before.” Whelan credits her Princeton professors for pushing her to build the abilities needed for her artistic and teaching success and  values the skills —visualization, problem-solving, trusting her instincts — she developed through art.
