Author Conversation: Picture Ecology
The Art Museum’s latest publication, Picture Ecology: Art and Ecocriticism in Planetary Perspective, presents a diverse array of art historical criticism formulated within an ecological context, bringing together contributors whose scholarship extends chronologically and geographically from 11th-century Chinese painting to contemporary photography of California wildﬁres.The book’s editor, Karl Kusserow, John Wilmerding Curator of American Art, will be joined in conversation by the photographer and writer Subhankar Banerjee, Lannan Foundation Endowed Chair and Professor of Art & Ecology and Director, Center for Environmental Arts and Humanities, University of New Mexico.
