About the Journey

Experience the wonder of Southern Africa’s great wildlife sanctuaries on this Princeton-exclusive adventure featuring two distinct safari experiences and a visit to the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls.

Gather with your fellow travelers in Johannesburg, where you’ll tour the Soweto District, including Nelson Mandela’s home. Then travel to Zimbabwe to witness the thundering spray and 300-foot gorge of Victoria Falls, a true natural wonder. While there, connect with the local community with a school visit and time to explore the village.

In Botswana’s Chobe National Park, encounter one of Africa’s largest concentrations of wildlife, including the world’s largest elephant population. Set out on game drives and unique boat safaris on the Chobe River, spotting for hippos, crocs, zebras, giraffes, lions, buffalo and some of the park’s 450 species of birds.

A highlight of the tour is a stay at the intimate, award-winning Mfuwe Lodge, located inside Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park. Here you will be immersed in the wild landscape, spotting game from the veranda of your room or from the main deck of the lodge. Set out on game drives and bush walks, and take in the sunsets as nature’s spectacles unfold before your eyes.

For those wishing to continue the adventure, an optional post-tour extension to Cape Town is available.
