About the Journey

Journey through antiquity on an in-depth, Princeton-exclusive Egyptian adventure, featuring cruises on both Lake Nasser and the legendary Nile River.

Begin in Cairo with the iconic Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza, then visit the brand new Grand Egyptian Museum, showcasing over 100,000 artifacts spanning 700,000 years of Egyptian history. Fly to Abu Simbel and walk its massive complex of temples, guarded by statues of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. Embark on a fascinating Lake Nasser cruise, exploring the archaeological gems of ancient Nubia and delving into its distinct culture and traditions.

Next, delight in a classic voyage along the Nile River from Aswan to Luxor, witnessing the Temple of Horus, Egypt’s best-preserved temple, and the unparalleled temple complexes of Luxor, representing the pinnacle of Egyptian architecture. Explore the mile-long ruins of Karnak, considered by many to be Egypt’s greatest temple complex. Visit the haunting Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens, as well as the massive Colossi of Memnon, then return to Cairo where the journey concludes.

For those wishing to extend the adventure, an optional post-tour extension to Petra and Amman, Jordan, is available.
