Land of the Ice Bears: An In-Depth Exploration of Arctic Svalbard aboard National Geographic Resolution
About the Journey
Sail aboard the National Geographic Resolution to the high Arctic archipelago of Svalbard, one of the most reliable places on the planet to see polar bears in their native habitat. With a skilled team of naturalists and veteran spotters, you’ll have the best chance to experience close sightings. Under the midnight sun, observe walrus, reindeer, elusive arctic foxes, fur seals, and a glory of birds by Zodiac, kayak, and on foot. The islands of the archipelago are ideal for walking, with some hikes revealing artful, sculptural arrangements of whale bones on pebbled beaches, and the ghostly remains of trapper’s huts. Capture it all with your camera or phone with tips from your expert photo instructor.
Please note: Princeton travelers will be joined by those from Washington and Lee University and Lindblad Expeditions.
