200th Anniversary Committee
200th Anniversary Committee
The mission of the 200th Anniversary ad hoc committee is to amplify the joy and pride of Princeton’s alumni network by leveraging peer-to-peer engagement for all 100,000+alumni.

The Princeton Alumni Association
The current Alumni Association traces its history back to the Alumni Association of Nassau Hall, which was established in 1826 “to promote the interests of the College and the friendly intercourse of its graduates.” Former U.S. president James Madison ’1771 accepted election as its first president, a post he held until his death in 1836.
The University community will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Alumni Association throughout 2026, kicking off on Alumni Day (Feb. 21, 2026) and continuing through Orange & Black Day (Oct. 22, 2026) with on-campus and regional activities, plus opportunities to engage and connect on social and digital platforms.

The ad hoc committee will work alongside committees of the Alumni Council Executive Committee to identify high-impact volunteer-led activities, make connections among the communities, advise on integration practices and coordinate implementation schedules to hit milestones and build on the excitement throughout the six-month celebration. Alumni Engagement and Advancement Communications will develop a toolkit of resources that can be used and shared with stakeholders.
Together, we’ll make this a celebration to remember — by alumni, for alumni.
