In February, Tigers heart Alumni Day, and this year’s 110th observance of the annual tradition includes much to love. Don your favorite orange-and-black attire and spend Saturday, Feb. 22, with family and friends — cherished and new — at the Best Old Place of All.
The events commence with celebrations of Elena Kagan ’81, associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, and David Card *83, emeritus professor of economics at the University of California-Berkeley. As recipients of the Woodrow Wilson Award and the James Madison Medal, respectively, they will receive the highest honors given to alumni. The morning program will also honor the winners of the undergraduate Pyne Prize and the graduate Jacobus Fellowship. Other highlights include the annual Alumni Day luncheon in Jadwin Gymnasium with a presentation about the new Princeton University Art Museum, the annual Service of Remembrance in the University Chapel and a closing reception with a toast celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni.
Here’s what else you need to know to plan your Alumni Day.
Schedule Highlights
9:15 a.m., Awards in Alexander Hall: Gather in Richardson Auditorium for the presentation of the Woodrow Wilson Award, conferred on an alum of the undergraduate college whose achievements exemplify “Princeton in the nation’s service,” and the James Madison Medal, the University’s top honor for Graduate School alumni. Elena Kagan will be in conversation with President Eisgruber, David Card will present remarks and we will hear from the honorees of this year’s undergraduate Pyne Prize and graduate Jacobus Fellowship.
Noon, Luncheon at Jadwin Gymnasium: Enjoy refreshments at a reception beginning at 11:30 a.m. before the noon meeting of the Alumni Association. In addition to remarks by Alumni Association President Monica Moore Thompson and a final ovation for the Alumni Day award winners, James Steward, the Nancy A. Nasher-David J. Haemisegger, Class of 1976, Director, will share details about the new Princeton University Art Museum, opening this fall.

3 p.m., Service of Remembrance in the Chapel: The University’s annual memorial service invites family and friends to remember with honor and affection those Princetonians — alumni, students, faculty and staff — whose deaths were recorded in 2024. The Rev. Stanford Adams ’00 will deliver the memorial address. Alumni unable to attend can watch a livestream of the service on the University’s Media Central webpage.
4 p.m., Closing reception in Chancellor Green Rotunda: Join fellow alumni for a toast celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni.
More events: The campus will be roaring with activities this winter weekend, beginning on Friday. Watch the Princeton athletic teams compete against Ivy League rivals, view an art or library exhibition, see a show, enjoy a chemistry demo and attend a class or graduate alumni meet-up.
