At the Symposium on Race, alumni volunteers and high school students find a community of difference-makers
At the Symposium on Race on March 26-27, high school students honored with the Princeton Prize in Race Relations (PPRR) presented their projects to Princeton University students, alumni and fellow winners, while attending fascinating workshops and connecting with a community of students committed to making a difference.
The PPRR identifies and recognizes high school students who, through action and service, have demonstrated leadership in advancing racial equity or promoting racial understanding in their schools and communities. Founded in 2003 by Henry Von Kohorn ’66, the PPRR recognizes the need to support and encourage high school students committed to fostering positive race relations within their communities.
More than 400 dedicated Princeton alumni support the PPRR. These volunteers promote an inclusive and supportive society and believe that it is critical to this nation to address issues of racial inequity and develop better racial understanding. Since 2003, more than 2,000 high school students have been honored by the PPRR for their work to advance racial equity.
