Princeton community celebrates University’s birthday on Orange & Black Day

Around the world, Princetonians rallied to celebrate Orange & Black Day on Oct. 22, commemorating the 279th anniversary of the signing of the University’s charter. At regional clubs and affinity group gatherings, classmates and fellow grads embraced this year’s DIY theme by choosing imaginative venues, decorations and cuisine. Orange-clad alumni filled social media with Tiger flair, sharing photos and videos with the online Princeton community.

On campus, alumni volunteers served orange-and-black birthday cake to students in all of the residential dining halls. On Oct. 25, the celebration continued during Tiger Tailgate and the Homecoming football game, where a crowd of tigers sang “Happy Birthday” to the Best Old Place of All and enjoyed cake in the stands.

The fun and creativity continues: Keep on posting and don’t forget to tag @PrincetonAlumni and #OrangeAndBlack.
