Annual Giving provides unrestricted funds to meet the University’s highest priorities and most pressing needs—including financial aid, library and computing resources, and faculty recruitment—and ensures the flexibility to undertake necessary new initiatives.

“I am delighted that Tim Kingston will spearhead this year’s Annual Giving campaign,” said President Christopher L. Eisgruber ’83. “He has a deep commitment to the University’s mission, extensive experience as an Annual Giving volunteer, and the leadership skills needed to energize his fellow AG volunteers and inspire Princeton’s alumni, parents, and friends.”

Kingston, who succeeds Louise (Weezie) Sams ’79 as chair of Annual Giving, has been a member of the Annual Giving Committee since 2013, most recently serving as a vice chair. He chaired the Special Gifts committees for 1987’s 20th, 25th, and 30th Reunion campaigns. He also served as a New York metro regional steering committee member during Princeton’s Aspire campaign, which raised $1.88 billion for Princeton from 2007 through 2012.

He and his wife, Jennifer Pickens Kingston of the Class of 1987, “have been honored to serve Princeton for many years as Annual Giving volunteers.” A member of the President’s Advisory Council and the advisory council for Princeton’s Department of Latin American Studies, he “looks forward to helping lead the great tradition of Annual Giving forward.”

Kingston is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on various not-for-profit boards, including the Americas Society, Princeton in Latin America, and TechnoServe, a global NGO that promotes business solutions to the challenge of poverty in the developing world. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history, holds a certificate in Latin American studies, and earned an MBA from INSEAD.

Tim and Jennifer, who in addition to her work with Annual Giving is a member of the President’s Advisory Council and the Regional Schools committee, live in New York City with their three daughters.
