Princeton University’s 2023-24 Annual Giving campaign raised $66,702,675 — among the top 10 highest totals in Annual Giving history — with 45.0% of undergraduate alumni participating. The results are notable for their strength across all of Princeton’s constituencies: undergraduate alumni, graduate alumni, parents and friends.

“This year’s Annual Giving results are remarkable,” said President Christopher L. Eisgruber ’83. “The unrestricted funds raised through Annual Giving are tremendously important to sustaining Princeton’s excellence in teaching and research and to meeting the full financial needs of our exceptional students. I am so grateful to our many volunteers for their hard work and dedication, and to our alumni, parents and friends for their generosity and steadfast support.”

The Class of 1999, with a participation rate of 65.5%, raised the largest amount — $8,631,999, its highest total ever, in celebration of its 25th Reunion. The Class of 2009 set a new 15th Reunion record with $1,206,609.

The 50th Reunion Class of 1974 finished with $4,451,974, its second-highest total ever, with 56.9% participation.

Seven other major reunion classes raised more than $1 million: 1994 with $5,001,994; 1984 with $4,279,266; 1989 with $2,846,660; 1979 with $2,429,597; 1969 with $2,075,969; 2004 with $2,000,004; and 1964 with $1,094,994.

Graduate alumni gave more than $2 million for the seventh consecutive year, raising $2,221,201 from 2,314 donors. Princeton parents contributed $1,648,066 to the total.

Among the most recent 10 alumni classes: the 10th Reunion Class of 2014 raised $333,214, its highest total ever; and in celebration of its first major reunion campaign, the Class of 2019 raised $63,919 for its fifth Reunion.

The Class of 1992 raised the highest total among non-major reunion classes, with $866,911; 10 other non-major reunion classes recorded totals of $500,000 or more.

This year’s highest percentage of participation belongs to the Class of 1963, which achieved 74.0%. That was followed by the 25th Reunion Class of 1999, which reached 65.5%; the Class of 1972, which reached 65.4%; the Class of 1966, which reached 62.5%; the 20th Reunion Class of 2004, which reached 60.7%; and the Class of 1950, which reached 60.0%. The Class of 1943 reached 66.7%, with two of its three remaining members making a gift to Annual Giving. Thirty other classes recorded participation rates of 50% or higher.

The Class of 2024 achieved participation of 48.7% for their senior class campaign, with 634 of its classmates pledging to support Annual Giving for the next four years.

“The extraordinary outcome of this year’s Annual Giving campaign is a testament to the loyalty and generosity of our alumni, parents and friends and to the dedication and enthusiasm of our incredible volunteer team,” said Christopher E. Olofson ’92, who is completing his four-year term as chair of Annual Giving. “Year after year, we reach our results one gift at a time and every single gift makes a tangible difference at Princeton. To the tens of thousands of Princetonians who have participated in this year’s campaign, thank you for making a difference.”

Unrestricted gifts to Princeton through Annual Giving directly support Princeton’s educational mission, enabling the University to stay at the forefront of teaching and research and to ensure the affordability of a Princeton education for all admitted students.
