Omenn-Darling Lecture in Ethics and Policy in Bioengineering: Feng Zhang
The annual Omenn-Darling Lecture in Ethics and Policy in Bioengineering will be given this year by Feng Zhang of MIT and the Broad Institute. Zhang’s talk is entitled “Exploration of Biological Diversity” and will be followed by a wine and cheese reception.
Feng Zhang is a pioneering bioengineer who is known for having developed many of the CRIPSR gene editing technologies that have transformed research and biomedicine. These technologies are not only creating life-saving therapeutics for devastating diseases, but also raise important ethical questions about the use of such technologies, with profound implications for humanity. He is an investigator at the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT, co-director of the K. Lisa Yang and Hock E. Tan Center for Molecular Therapeutics at MIT and an investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
This event is free and open to the public.
