About the Journey

Dazzling royal palaces and ancient medinas in Marrakech; Berber villages of the High Atlas Mountains; black- and white-sand beaches lining the isles of a Spanish archipelago: experience them all on a grand voyage from Morocco to the Canary Islands aboard the elegant Sea Cloud Spirit

Begin with three nights in Marrakech, exploring its top museums, architectural gems, and breathtaking gardens. Wander through the medina’s winding alleyways and experience a 1,001 nights-themed gala dinner in a private tented camp before venturing on to Casablanca and boarding the Sea Cloud Spirit, an incomparable 69-cabin sailing ship launched in 2021.

Over the course of the next seven nights, the Sea Cloud Spirit will cruise south along the coast of Morocco and then across the Atlantic, calling at two of the Canary Islands. Along the way, participants will travel through Morocco’s Sous Valley to market towns and Berber villages; marvel at the Canary Island’s dramatic lunar-like landscapes created by centuries of volcanic activity; and discover the spectacular beauty of Tenerife with a cable car ride to the top of Spain’s highest peak in Teide National Park.

Participants will be joined on this program by like-minded travelers from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Williams College, and Washington & Lee.
