Africa’s Wildlife: South Africa, Botswana, Zambia & Victoria Falls

Jonathan Levine, J.N. Allison Professor of Environmental Studies and Department Chair, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology

Prior to Princeton, Jonathan Levine served as a Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, and at the University of California. Levine’s research has made fundamental contributions to our understanding of biodiversity, and he is most noted for his work on how a wide diversity of species co-occur with one another in nature’s ecosystems. Levine has made important contributions to our understanding of biological invasions, and how climate change alters the interactions between species. In all of these endeavors, he probes how rapid evolutionary change shapes the biodiversity of our planet. Levine’s research is published in the journals Science, Nature, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. He is the recipient of a Fellowship for Science and Engineering from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and the Robert H. MacArthur Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Ecological Society of America.

About the Journey
