Registration is now open for “Many Minds, Many Stripes: A Princeton University Conference Celebrating Graduate Alumni,” to be held Oct. 9-11. The conference coincides with the 125th anniversary of the Princeton Graduate School, which was formally incorporated as part of the University in 1900. All Princeton alumni are invited to attend this complimentary campus conference with one guest.

Many Minds, Many Stripes” will include updates from Graduate School leadership; opportunities to hear from faculty and alumni on topics that reflect the institution‘s academic excellence, interdisciplinary approach and the diverse career trajectories of alumni; academic department gatherings; tours; networking and social activities.

For more than a year, the University — along with alumni led by co-chairs Yan Huo *94, Ann Kirschner *78 and Laurence Morse *80 and a steering committee of 13 other volunteers — has been planning “Many Minds, Many Stripes”; the last conference celebrating graduate alumni, held in 2013, brought nearly 1,000 attendees to campus. Alumni focus groups in 11 cities helped craft the programming and schedule for this year’s three-day gathering.

“The Many Minds, Many Stripes conference is one of the most significant events we have planned during our 125th Anniversary year,” said Rodney Priestley, dean of the Princeton Graduate School and the Pomeroy and Betty Perry Smith Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering. “We are looking forward to the energy and intellectual excitement that happens when you gather together our community. We hope alumni will return to be part of that excitement, reunite with friends, faculty, and staff, and celebrate the transformational impact of a Princeton graduate education.”

In the Graduate School’s 125-year history, more than 37,000 Princeton students have earned graduate degrees, including 17 alumni who received Nobel Prizes. There are currently more than 30,000 living Graduate School alumni; 19% of them reside internationally. The conference will also highlight the legacy of the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni, which celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2024.

Since 2006, Princeton University has sponsored and hosted 13 alumni conferences and one symposium. These gatherings are open to all alumni and are designed to celebrate alumni communities and engage them with the University, faculty and one another. Following the “Many Minds, Many Stripes” conference, the next planned alumni conference will celebrate Asian American and Asian alumni.

Pre-registration is required to attend “Many Minds, Many Stripes.” Visit the conference website for more information about registration, programming and speakers, hotel room blocks and more.
