LISD sponsors reunion event: A conversation on the future of Ukraine with General David Petraeus *85 *87 and Anne-Marie Slaughter ’80

General David Petraeus *85 *87 (U.S. Army, Ret.) is one of the most respected battlefield commanders, strategists and geopolitical thinkers of our time. He served 37 years in the military, culminating in six commands as a general officer — five in combat —including the Surge in Iraq, U.S. Central Command and Coalition Forces in Afghanistan. He subsequently served as CIA director, confirmed 94–0 by the Senate, during a period of significant achievements in the global war on terror. Today, he is a Partner at KKR and Chairman of the KKR Global Institute, which he founded in 2013. A distinguished West Point graduate, Petraeus earned a Ph.D. from Princeton and has held academic roles at five universities. He’s the only person in U.S. Army history to be the top graduate of both Ranger School and the Command and General Staff College. Speakers Anne-Marie Slaughter is CEO of New America, a think tank devoted to renewing the promise of America. From 2002 to 2009, she was Bert G. Kerstetter ’66 University Professor of Politics and International Affairs and dean of the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. In 2009, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appointed her as the first woman director of policy planning in the U.S. State Department.

This event is presented by the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-determination. It is open to the public; registration required
