Opening Exercises and Pre-rade

Opening Exercises for the Class of 2028 will be held on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 3 p.m. The annual interfaith service includes an address by President Christopher L. Eisgruber and the recognition of academic achievements of undergraduate students.

First-year students will line up on Cannon Green with classmates in their residential college and march through the FitzRandolph Gate, onto Front Campus, officially entering campus to start their undergraduate experience. They will be joined by trustees, faculty and administrators who process in academic regalia.

Following the ceremony, first-year students will exit Front Campus and head toward the historic Cannon Green in a Pre-rade at which they will be greeted on the path by fellow Princetonians. Alumni are welcome and encouraged to wear their favorite orange and black. A video of Opening Exercises will be streamed live on the Media Central website.
