Tobias Schmidt is Associate (tenured) Professor and head of the Energy and Technology Policy Group (EPG) at ETH Zurich. He also serves as the director of Institute of Science, Technology and Policy (ISTP). He is currently a visiting fellow at Princeton’s Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment as well as the Center for Policy Research on Energy and the Environment.

His research analyzes the interaction of energy policy and its underlying politics with technological change in the energy sector (including its financing). EPG is an interdisciplinary lab comprised of engineers, economists and political scientists.
