Join Arvind Narayanan, professor of computer science and director of the Princeton Center for Information Technology Policy, as he cuts through the confusion during a discussion of his latest co-authored book: “AI Snake Oil.” Narayanan’s book presentation will be followed by a lively Q&A session between Narayanan and Rishi Jaitly ’04, professor and distinguished humanities fellow at Virginia Tech and Open AI senior advisor.

Arvind Narayanan is a professor of computer science at Princeton University and the director of its Center for Information Technology Policy. He is a co-author of the book “AI Snake Oil” and a newsletter of the same name which is read by 35,000 researchers, policy makers, journalists and AI enthusiasts. He previously co-authored two widely used computer science textbooks: “Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies” and “Fairness in Machine Learning.” Narayanan was one of TIME’s inaugural list of 100 most influential people in AI. He is a recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers.

Rishi Jaitly '04 is a distinguished entrepreneur, executive and educator. As Professor of Practice and Distinguished Humanities Fellow at Virginia Tech, he founded the Institute for Leadership in Technology, which offers the world's first Executive Leadership Credential in the Humanities to rising leaders in the world's technology landscape. Additionally, Jaitly serves as a Senior Advisor to OpenAI. Previously, he was the Founding CEO of Times Bridge, and held multiple leadership roles at Twitter, Google and YouTube. A co-founder of Michigan Corps, Kiva Detroit, and the BMe Community, Jaitly serves as Vice Chairman of the National Humanities Center and is a Board Director at Virginia Humanities.
